Compensation Lawyer And Set-Up Road Crime
identity theft protection September 3rd, 2010Beware; we have modern-day “Dick Turpins’” at work on our roads, not quite “Stand and deliver” at gun point, but there’s a striking similarity.
There is a crime that is sweeping the country and innocent drivers are the victims. Effectively, we have an ambush situation.
This is what can happen :
You may be following a vehicle, generally an ageing car or van, onto a roundabout or slip road. This vehicle, which often has no brake lights, brakes hard and you cannot avoid slamming into it.
There might be more than one car involved. The second car might act as a forcing the car in front to sharply brake.
If you discover that you have been a target of an illegal crash you can use a compensation lawyer to claim back your expenses.
For the most part, these set-ups occur at busy roundabouts and slip roads. The people behind the crashes have practise at blame the innocent drivers for the crash. These highwaymen of the present say are part of a larger group of people who run repair garages and have a number of cars in use. These firms present falsely inflated invoices for work carried out, hire of a car whilst the car is off the road and so on. Then they will claim for compensation on the innocent motorist’s insurance which costs the innocent even more money. The highwaymen will carry the maximum number of passengers and they will all claim to be injured which means that even more compensation claims are logged. So what was a minor accident has turned into a claim for thousands of pounds.
The massive scale of these fake accidents has left insurers on guard and they suspect there could be as many as 10,000 false claims from these gangs each year. With this in mind the Association of British Insurers have created an Insurance Fraud Bureau. They work with the police to find these gangs and bring them to justice.
Each day motorists and passengers are at risk from the work of these gangs. It is vitally important that insurers and drivers work together in a concerted effort to stop this crime.
